Proceed With Caution premiered on Saturday May 10th at the
Scotch Plains Library
Proceed With Caution is an original student screenplay. The
production involved many students participating in various roles.
Some students are directly part of the Film/TV Production classes
taught at Scotch Plains Fanwood High School. Many more have
untapped talent as they participated in special effects, lighting,
makeup, character players and cast.
What makes this film especially unique is that it was filmed within
a 48-hour period. Filming started at the High School on Friday
evening, April 26. Principal actors arrived at 9pm.
Remaining cast arrived between 10 and 11pm and waited patiently for
special effects makeup to be applied and for costumes to be
adjusted. Throughout the High School, location
preparations, cleanup, lighting adjustments, filming, more cleanup,
retakes and more continued thru 12 noon on Saturday. As the
midnight oil burned away, everyone worked very hard and tirelessly
in spite of their bleary eyes and fatigued dispositions.
Over the next few days additional footage was shot. The
post production phase was challenging as the film festival drew
nearer - As usual regarding tight deadlines, what could go
wrong did, from computer crashes, software glitches and some of the
post production crew coming down with viruses.
